Lifestyle Management Center - Building a Healthy Community
The Lifestyle Management Center (the “Center”) of Hong Kong Adventist Hospital – Stubb Road (the “Hospital”) and Adventist Medical Center (“AMC”), are dedicated to providing health education to the public, promoting the importance of prevention over treatment.
Regarding to the World Health Organization’s global monitoring framework for prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, there is sufficient medical evidence indicating that premature deaths from most non-communicable diseases can be avoided by changing lifestyle habits, such as quitting smoking, avoiding alcohol, maintaining a balanced diet, and engaging in regular physical activities. Evidence also suggests that eliminating health behaviour risk factors can prevent 80% of heart diseases, strokes, and diabetes, and 40% of cancers.^ By helping the public adopt healthy lifestyles, non-communicable diseases can be prevented, thereby improving overall population health.
The Center, through various services and programs, including corporate wellness programs, Lifestyle Medicine Clinics, comprehensive lifestyle assessment, health screenings, vegetarian cooking classes, and weight management programs, and other interactive educational projects, helps participants change their lifestyles to achieve holistic physical, mental, and spiritual health.
